IPL 2019, DC vs SRH, Eliminator: Delhi opt to bat; both teams make one change each
The winner of the match will play Chennai at the same venue in Qualifier 2 on Friday
Delhi Capitals (DC) will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Eliminator at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Vizag on Wednesday.
The Shreyas Iyer-led side has been one of the top sides in this IPL edition. Despite finishing with 18 points from their 14 matches, they could not secure a place in the top two because of their lesser net run-rate
Hyderabad, on the other hand, had to face a four-wicket defeat against Royal Challengers Bangalore. It was only after Kolkata Knight Riders' (KKR) defeat against Mumbai Indians in their final group stage game that the Orange Army could make it to the playoffs.
The winner of the match will play Chennai at the same venue in Qualifier 2 on Friday.
Toss Update:
Delhi have won the toss and they will be bowling first. They have just one change in the side; Colin Ingram comes in for Colin Munro.
“We are going to bowl first. The wicket looks a bit sticky. We practised yesterday and there was dew - it is an added advantage. We are going to treat it as another game. But it is a playoff and the players are nervous,” said Iyer.
Hyderabad have also made just one change – Deepak Hooda comes in for Yusuf Pathan.
“We were also going to bowl first. Manish has been playing really well. The team has been playing some good cricket,” said Williamson
Here’re the teams:
Delhi Capitals: Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Colin Munro, Shreyas Iyer(c), Rishabh Pant(w), Sherfane Rutherford, Axar Patel, Keemo Paul, Amit Mishra, Ishant Sharma, Trent Boult
Sunrisers Hyderabad: Wriddhiman Saha(w), Martin Guptill, Manish Pandey, Kane Williamson(c), Vijay Shankar, Mohammad Nabi, Deepak Hooda, Rashid Khan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, K Khaleel Ahmed, Basil Thampi
