Samson's exclusion sparked a huge commotion on social media as the fans expressed their disappointments

The BCCI announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming limited-overs series against West Indies, scheduled to begin from December 6. As MS Dhoni remains unavailable for this rubber as well, the selectors chose to continue with wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant, despite his poor run and DRS howlers in the recent games. On the other hand, MSK Prasad and team dropped Sanju Smason who was named in the squad for the Bangladesh T20Is but failed to find a spot in the playing XI. His exclusion, thereafter, sparked a huge commotion on social media as the fans expressed their disappointments.

#RishabhPant must be really good at making his captain laugh or something. He is obviously not in the team for his batting or keeping skills. Poor #SanjuSamson thought only batting & keeping will earn him a place.@BCCI needs a Selector who can select @SGanguly99

Even people from the cricket fraternity were left surprised on Samson’s omission from the squad.

Sanju Samson losing place in the squad v West Indies without playing a game is quirky selection. Hopefully this won’t affect his morale. Samson’s exclusion means Pant doesn’t have to keep looking over his shoulder. But also means he must now deliver without delay

Hard on Sanju Samson but I guess he is much better off playing games rather than just travelling around. Big vote of confidence in Rishabh Pant but the team will expect more from him.
