IND vs WI, 3rd ODI: Kuldeep Yadav On Cusp Of Breaking Shami's Record

Kuldeep Yadav needs just four wickets to break Mohammad Shami's record of being fastest Indian to get to 100 ODI wickets

Left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav who has been India's bowling spearhead for the past two-three seasons is on the verge of getting his name against a major record. With a staggering 96 wickets in just 53 ODIs, the 24-year-old is just four short of the 100-wicket milestone in one day international cricket. Yadav has a great opportunity of scaling the milestone when India take on the West Indies in the third and final ODI at Queen Sports Park, Trinidad later in the evening. If he gets to the milestone, he will become the fastest Indian bowler to achieve the landmark in ODI cricket. The record for the fastest in in the name of Mohammed Shami, who got to the milestone in just 56 ODIs. Afghanistan's star leg spinner Rashid Khan holds the record for being the fastest bowler to scale the 100-wicket milestone in ODI cricket. Khan took just 44 ODIs to get to the landmark. Yadav had a brilliant opportunity of becoming the fastest bowler to get to 100-ODI wickets but he could not achieve the same as he had a lackluster ICC World Cup, picking up just 6 wickets in 7 matches. Virat Kohli-led India currently lead the three-match ODI rubber 1-0 with the first game being washed out at Guyana. The Indians inflicted a 59-run win via DLS system over the West Indies in the rain-affected 2nd ODI at Trinidad
