IND vs WI, 3rd ODI: India's Track Record Impressive At High Scoring Cuttack Venue

India are unbeaten in their last six ODIs at coastal town venue and also boast of winning streak against the Windies in their past encounters played at Cuttack.

The Barabati Stadium in Cuttack will be the venue for the one-day international series decider between India and West Indies on Sunday, with both the teams tied at 1-1 in the 3-match affair. With the ODI series on the line in what also marks  the last bilateral one day international engagement for either sides before the year draws to a close, the Men in Blue and the Maroon Brigade would eye nothing but a win to close out their white ball campaign on a high. There could not be a more sought after venue for the Indians than the Barabati Stadium, where the hosts have an impressive track record in one day internationals. Overall, the ''Men In Blue' have won 12 out of the 16 ODIs played at the venue. India are unbeaten in their last six ODIs at coastal town venue and also boast of winning streak against the Windies in their past encounters played at Cuttack. India has beaten the West Indies in all three previous encounters played between the team. Going by the past statistics, the pitch at the Barabati stadium has been a batting friendly deck with plethora of runs on offer. So much like the Vizag game, the final encounter could be a run feat much to the delight of the crowds. With both sides laden with destructive stroke-makers, one could be in for a power-hitting feast in the day-night encounter. The last time India played an ODI at Cuttack back in 2017, they beat England by 15 runs. It was a high scoring match with over 700 runs scored in the game.Batting first India scored a mammoth 381 for 6 after which England replied with 366 for 8. Prior to that in 2014, India piled up 363 for 5 against Sri Lanka and won that game by a comfortable margin. Going by the statistics, Cuttack has been a high scoring venue with the average first innings batting score being 293. Teams prefer to chase at Cuttack with teams batting second coming out winners in 11 out of the 18 encounters. With the match also being played under lights, dew will become a factor in the second innings and add to the difficulty for the batsmen.
