IND Vs SL: Ravindra Jadeja Breaks Kapil Dev's 36-Year Old Record For Most Runs At No. 7
IND vs SL 1st Test: Ravindra Jadeja remained not-out at 175 when Rohit Sharma decided to declare India's innings at 574 runs. He was very well supported by Ashwin who scored 61.
Day 2 of the Mohali Test saw a 36-year-old record - held by Kapil Dev - being broken by all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. By scoring 175*, Jadeja became the all-time highest run-scorer for India, batting at no. 7 in Test matches.
On the morning of Day 2 of the first Test between India and Sri Lanka, captain Dimuth Karunaratne said that he would love to restrict India under 400, but Jadeja, Ashwin, and Shami had other plans.

Jadeja Breaks Kapil Dev's Record
By scoring 175 runs, Jadeja not only took India to a comfortable position but also broke a long-standing record, previously held by Kapil Dev.
Jadeja now holds the record for scoring the most runs batting at no. 7. Kapil Dev had previously scored 163 runs in 1986 against Sri Lanka in Kanpur. Rishabh Pant's 156 against Australia at Sydney in 2019 is at no. 3 in the list.
