Hard-hitting all-rounder Shivam Dube also failed and departed for just 13, but Shubman Gill (39) and Riyan Parag (26) formed a crucial fifty-run partnership to keep India's sinking ship steady. Just as they began to accelerate, both were dismissed by Hasaranga in the same over. Washington Sundar (25 runs off 18 balls) contributed with a cameo towards the end, helping India reach a total close to a respectable total.
