India lost six wickets for just 41 runs, ending the innings at 471.

Pope led England’s fightback on Day 2 with a composed unbeaten century. After losing early wickets, he steadied the innings with a crucial partnership, guiding England to 209/3 at stumps. They now trail India by 262 runs, keeping the contest finely poised heading into Day 3.

Ben Duckett scored 62 before being dismissed. For the Indian cricket team, senior pacer Jasprit Bumrah was the star with the ball, claiming all three wickets. With the match finely balanced, IND vs ENG 1st Test Day 3 in Leeds could prove decisive — weather permitting.
