IND vs ENG: England Win Toss, Choose To Bat First At Iconic Lord's

With the five-match series currently levelled at 1-1, both sides will look to seize the advantage.

India vs England Lord's Test Toss Update: The wait is over for third Test between India and England at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground.

With the five-match series currently levelled at 1-1, both sides will look to seize the advantage. While England claimed victory in the opening Test, India bounced back strongly in the second.

As both teams prepare for battle at Lord’s, history is slightly in India’s favour — the visitors have registered three Test wins at this venue (in 1986, 2014, and 2021), their most at any ground in England.

Following India’s dominant win at Edgbaston, Akash Deep has stepped up as a promising solution to India’s bowling concerns, while Shubman Gill’s composed leadership has drawn praise. The return of Jasprit Bumrah for the Lord’s Test adds a major boost to the Indian lineup.

England Wins Toss

England have won the toss and decided to bat first Lord's.

What captains said...

Ben Stokes: We are going to have a bat. Surface there is something here early on generally. It is good, well fought series and we are up for this game. The body is good. Quick turnaround, we are fresh and ready to go. Everyone likes playing at Lord's and you have to enjoy it. Just one change.

Shubman Gill: I was confused what to do till this morning. I would have bowled first. There would be something for the bowlers in the first session. Everyone chipped in and that's what the discussion was about. The bowlers are feeling confident, wasn't easy to pick 20 wickets on that (Edgbaston) wicket. I am feeling great, as a batter you expect to be in the middle of the situation and batting. We have one change - Bumrah for Prasidh.
