IND vs ENG 4th Test: Will Rain Play Spoilsport? Manchester Weather Report

The weather is expected to significantly influence the outcome of the fourth Test between India and England, set to take place from July 23 to July 27.

The third Test match of the five-match series between India and England has concluded, with England securing a 2-1 lead. The fourth Test is scheduled to be held at Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Manchester.

With only two matches remaining, both encounters are crucial for Team India. To win the series, the visitors must claim victory in both games.

However, one major concern heading into the fourth Test is the weather, which can often be unpredictable in England and may play a decisive role.

What does weather forecast predict for Manchester Test?

The weather is expected to significantly influence the outcome of the fourth Test between India and England, set to take place from July 23 to July 27.

Rain is expected on the first two days, which could disrupt play. The first day may see up to 39% cloud cover, while the second day could experience 54% cloudiness, along with a chance of showers.

Fortunately, the third and fourth days are expected to be clear, providing an uninterrupted contest. However, the fifth day might again see overcast conditions and light rain, which could pose a threat to a full day’s play.

Must-win match for India

India finds itself in a must-win situation after losing the first and third Tests. Their only win in the series came during the second Test at Edgbaston.

A victory in the fourth Test is necessary for India to level the series 2-2. A loss would hand England the series, making this a do-or-die clash for the visitors.

The weather, therefore, could become a potential roadblock in India’s comeback attempt, and fans will be hoping for clear skies throughout the five days.

Possible changes in India's playing XI

Team India may consider making a few changes ahead of the fourth Test. Middle-order batter Karun Nair has not lived up to expectations, and the team could opt to include either Dhruv Jurel or Sai Sudharsan in his place.

Additionally, Jasprit Bumrah had earlier revealed he would only play three Tests on this tour to manage his workload.

Having already featured in two matches, he is likely to be rested for the Manchester Test. If that happens, left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh could get an opportunity to debut, especially considering his familiarity with English conditions from his county cricket experience.
