IND vs BAN, 1st Test: Indore Head Curator Reveals Pitch Conditions

Ahead of the first India vs Bangladesh Test in Indore, the pitch curator has revealed some key factors about the turf

After thumping Bangladesh 2-1 in the T20I series, the Indian cricket team is gearing for the 2-match Test rubber which will be a part of the ongoing ICC Test Championship. The first match commences on Thursday at the Holkar Stadium, Indore. The Kohli brigade has almost nullified the pitch factor with a potent blowing attack in the recent encounters. However, the nature of Indore track is likely to remain a mystery for the visitors on the opening day. Meanwhile, the pitch curator has revealed some key factors about the turf. According to a Hindustan Times Report, MPCA head curator Samandar Singh Chouhan has stated that it will be a sporting surface which will have assistance for everyone. “Good wicket, sporting wicket, assistance for everyone, as per the format the pitch will be good for all five days,” Chouhan was quoted as saying. The city has witnessed overcast weather conditions over the last few days which has made the ground staff work hard to prepare the surface. The reports further states that the track remained covered and received less amount of water. “Weather was a problem in the past few days, but we were prepared as such. The forecast is clear,” Chouhan added. As per the reports, there were no specific guidelines given by the Indian team for the preparation of the track. The staff is preparing the surface which would assist both the sides. “Do not receive any specific guidelines from the Indian side, have been working for 35-40 years now, we know what will are the strengths of the side and hence, accordingly prepare the surface,” he said. After the conclusion of the Indore Test, Virat Kohli and his men will play the first-ever Day-Night Test at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The second test begins from November 22.
