England became the first team to win their maiden World Cup title after losing three previous World Cup finals (1979,1987 and 1992).

Hosts England pulled off one of the most sensational wins in the 2019 ICC World Cup final to beat New Zealand by superior boundary count in the Super Over and lift their maiden title at the showpiece event. The World Cup final went down to the Super Over after New Zealand tied England's 241-run total in their regulation 50 overs. In the Super Over, New Zealand who had to chase down 16 runs, drew level with England's 15-runs but it was the hosts who emerged victorious  owing to a superior boundary count. Here are five factors which make England's maiden World Cup win a memorable one England lifted their maiden World Cup title by beating New Zealand in the finals of the 2019 ICC World Cup. England became the sixth team after Australia, West Indies, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka to win the coveted Cricket World Cup title. England became only the fourth nation to win the World Cup on their home turf. England joined Sri Lanka (1996 World Cup), India (2011 World Cup), Australia (2015 World Cup) to become  the fourth host nation to win the World Cup trophy. England became the first team to win their maiden World Cup title after losing three previous World Cup finals (1979,1987 and 1992). England became the first ever team in World Cup history to win the title after the match went into a Super Over.
