'He Must Play At The Oval': Nasser Hussain Backs Ravi Ashwin's Selection For 4th Test

Nasser Hussain exclaimed that Ashwin "should have played at Headingley". Read below to know what exactly the former England captain had to say.

Former England captain, Nasser Hussain has voiced out his opinion on the problems faced by the Indian cricket team in the 3rd Test. He clearly said that Ravichandran Ashwin must play in the 4th Test match as he is "No 2 in the world" and also a batsman with five Test centuries.

Hussain has written an article in the Daily Mail citing all these issues. Hussain favours Ashwin to be in the team as he is one of the players who can bat at number 7, which will give a cushion of playing their natural game to the likes of Rishabh Pant, who are batting at number 6.

"India do have is an off-spin bowler ranked No 2 in the world and a batsman good enough to have made five Test centuries in Ravichandran Ashwin," wrote Nasser Hussain.

"He should have played at Headingley against England's five left-handers and he must play at The Oval," the former England captain continued.

Hussain also gives a solution on how Ashwin could be included in the side. He writes, "So the most likely solution is Ashwin will come in for a seamer, most likely Ishant Sharma who struggled at Headingley, and join Ravindra Jadeja in a more balanced looking side with a deeper batting line-up as long as Jadeja recovers from his knee injury."
