Have Gained Confidence To Bowl Inswingers: Bumrah

Bumrah felt he always had the ability to bowl inswinging deliveries. However, now he has learnt the art of bowling the outswingers

The Indian pace bowling attack led by India star paceman Jasprit Bumrah were scalped all 10 wickets in Windies second innings to hand over a humiliating defeat in the Antigua Test. Bumrah led the charge with a brilliant 5-wicket haul, giving away just 7 runs. Speaking after the match, Bumrah felt he always had the ability to bowl inswinging deliveries. However, now he has learnt the art of bowling the outswingers. "Feeling good and we built pressure as a bowling unit which was nice. We used the breeze to our advantage and stuck to our plans. Lot of hard-work and practice goes into that (about bowling the outswinger). "I always had the inswinger but the more I played the more confident I got," the pacer said at the post-match presentation. "Playing with the Dukes ball in England helped me a lot, too. It has helped my confidence. Always trying to evolve as a bowler and always trying to do new things and when the ball is not swinging maybe try and use the seam to get the movement," he added. India will now take on the hosts in the second and final Test at Sabina Park in Kingston from August 30. Raecting to India’s win, Kohli said, “Even last time we played here, the result was very good for us. Jinks was very good in both the innings. It was more of a grind. We had to come back into the game three or four times. Managing player workloads is very important for us. He (Bumrah) will be a ley player for us as far as the Test championship is concerned. Those three are bowling well as a group.”
