David Warner's Wife Candice Takes Dig At Mitchell Johnson After Aussie Opener's Century

David Warner's Wife Candice reaction to her husband's sensation hundred in the Test series opener against Pakistan is trending online.

David Warner silenced his critics in style with a sensational hundred on Day 1 of the first Test of the three-match series in Perth. In what happens to be his farewell Test series, the left-handed batter never looked far from his prime and scored 164 off 211, a dominating knock that was studded with 16 fours and 4 sixes before eventually getting out to Aamer Jamal. While Warner himself 'shushed' his critics after his century celebration, not long after his wife Candice also took a dig at her husband's critics including Mitchell Johnson.

Candice did not even mention a word in her social media post but used an emoji to shush all those who reckoned Warner should not have been given the opportunity to choose his farewell series.

Check out her response here:

What Had Johnson Said? "As we prepare for David Warner's farewell series, can somebody please tell me why? Why a struggling Test opener gets to nominate his own retirement date? Johnson had written in his column for The West Australian.

"And why a player at the centre of one of the biggest scandals in Australian cricket history warrants a hero's send-off?" he said.

"Although Warner wasn't alone in Sandpapergate, he was at the time a senior member of the team and someone who liked to use his perceived power as a 'leader'," Johnson had elabroated, suggesting that Warner shouldn't be given a hero's farewell because he had been in poor form especially in the longest format of the game.

Australia End Day 1 Of Peth Test On 346/5

As far as the Perth Test is concerned, Warner's ton has ensured that Australia end Day 1 in a dominant position at 346/5. Other than Warner, Usman Khawaja scored 41 off 98 while Travis Head made a brisk 40 off 53 balls. Every other Aussie batter got a start before getting out. At the end of the day's play, it was the duo of Mitchell Marsh (15* off 31) and Alex Carey (14* off 32) that remained unbeaten.

For Pakistan, Jamal was the best performer on the day and finished the day with figures of 2/63 while Faheem Ashraf, Khurram Shahzad and Shaheen Shah Afridi picked a wicket each.
