Champions Trophy Standoff: PCB Rejects India's Terms - Read Details

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has firmly rejected the proposal to host ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in a hybrid model.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is gearing up to host ICC Champions Trophy in 2025 and is making strong efforts to secure Team India's participation. However, it remains doubtful that India will travel to Pakistan for the marquee ICC tournament.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not yet received official clearance from the Indian government for Team India to travel to Pakistan for Champions Trophy. A PTI report suggested that a 'hybrid model' was considered for Champions Trophy 2025, and that the Pakistan Cricket Board has agreed to it. Now, though, Pakistan seems to be pushing back on the arrangement.

According to the latest update, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has firmly rejected the proposal to host ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in a hybrid model. This decision comes after reports indicated that if India is unable to travel to Pakistan, their matches could instead be held in Dubai or Sharjah.

"No consideration is being given to any hybrid model," a PCB source told Cricket Pakistan.

When India opted out of traveling to Pakistan for 2023 Asia Cup, PCB agreed to a hybrid model for the tournament. However, this time, PCB is firmly against making similar concessions as it prepares to host its first ICC event in nearly 30 years.

An International Cricket Council (ICC) delegation will visit Lahore from November 10 to 12 to review Pakistan's preparations for the Champions Trophy. Reports indicate that the tournament schedule will be officially released during an event on November 11.
