BCCI Issues Warning Against Fraudulent Advertisements Offering NCA Admissions

BCCI has encountered fake advertisements which are promising admissions to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) facility in Bengaluru and has issued a warning against them.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), as confirmed in an official release, has encountered advertisements circulating false promises of securing admissions to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) facility in Bengaluru. The BCCI has offered a detailed clarification making it clear that it does not levy any charges on cricketers for utilising the NCA facilities. Meanwhile, the admission process to the NCA strictly adheres to established protocols and selection is solely based on merit.

It is crucial to note that NCA access is limited to BCCI's contracted players, those in the targeted group, and individuals recommended by State Associations. No external agencies, other than those explicitly mentioned, have authorisation for NCA recommendations, as has been confirmed in the official statement released by the BCCI undersigned by secretary Jay Shah.

"Cricketers, coaches and the public at large are advised to exercise caution and not fall prey to such fake and fraudulent posts and approach the respective State Associations for guidance," a part of the clarification put forward by BCCI reads.

Rohit Sharma Will Captain India In T20 World Cup 2024: BCCI Secretary Jay Shah

Meanwhile, ending all sorts of speculation over who will lead India in T20 World Cup 2024, Jai Shah announced that it would be Rohit Sharma who will lead India in the marquee ICC event in June.

"Rohit was captaining (in the past in other formats) and he came back for the Afghanistan series, which means we were going to let him continue forward," Shah told the media at the sidelines of Rajkot Stadium's renaming ceremony to the Niranjan Shah Cricket Stadium.

"In the third T20I against Afghanistan, India were 22/4 and the way he (Rohit Sharma) took the team to 212/4, we can't question much about him, right?" he asked

"He (Rohit) has the ability, as I said, we won 10 games in the ODI World Cup. We didn't win the final, but it's part and parcel of the game. Whoever plays better, wins," the 35-year-old said.
