Subramaniam Badrinath is going to announce his retirement from all forms of cricket very soon. Badrinath has been one of the star performers in the first-class cricket for the Tamil Nadu team but has missed this season due to unanimous reasons.
Badrinath got limited opportunities in the international stage as he represented India in 2 tests, 7 ODIs and a single T20I against West Indies.
The former Tamil Nadu skipper played a crucial part for the Chennai Super Kings often performing when needed but couldn't replicate his first-class and IPL form for the Indian National team. The emergence of other younger players too played its part in limiting Badrinath's opportunities at the highest level.
The 37-year old has played first-class cricket for over 14 years and has over 10000 runs in the same. Many believe Badrinath was not given his due when it comes to international cricket.
He made his international debut in 2008 ODI series against Sri Lanka and made his test debut against South Africa where he hit 56 runs off 139 balls in the first innings itself. However he couldn't repeat this in the other innings and was since dropped from the team.
Badrinath currently is working as an expert and a Tamil commentator for IPL.
