Australia A skipper Nathan McSweeney is set to open the batting with seasoned pro Usman Khawaja. McSweeney has been in great form lately, scoring an unbeaten 88 to lead his team to victory against India A in the series opener of AUS A vs IND A Tests.
Australian chairman of selectors George Bailey has expressed strong confidence in Nathan McSweeney's readiness for the Test arena, stating, "Nathan has shown the qualities we believe will serve him well in Test cricket, along with an impressive recent record in domestic matches."
"His performances for South Australia and Australia A weighed in his favour and supports our view he is ready for the opportunity at Test level.
"Similarly, Josh has been in great touch in the Sheffield Shield competition and deserves his place in his first Test squad."
