Ashes 2023: ECB Unveils New Jersey For Another Chapter In Cricket's Iconic Rivalry
Ashes 2023: England will take on Australia in the first Test match of the five-match series at the Edgbaston in Birmingham on June 16.
One of the most celebrated cricket rivalries, the England vs Australia, Ashes 2023 is just around the corner. In just three weeks, another chapter in the sport's oldest rivalry will begin with the first Test match of the iconic series set to begin at the Edgbaston in Birmingham on June 16. Before the Ashes 2023 though, Australia will also have to play another high-pressure encounter as they will take on India in the ICC World Test Championship final. The summit clash of the 2021-23 WTC cycle begins on June 7 at the Oval in London. England, meanwhile, will also be playing a one-off Test against Ireland beginning on June 1 at the Lord's in London before the Ashes 2023 opener.
Prior to the five-match series, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) unveiled a new England jersey for the five-match series. In a video shared by ECB's official social media handle, England cricketers Issy Wong, Kate Cross as well as James Anderson were seen in the brand new Test whites as they geared up for the Ashes series. The only Test match of the Women's Ashes begins on June 22 at the Trent Bridge in Nottingham.
"Rising for the Ashes. The special edition Ashes Test shirt is available now. 🔥 #ENGvAUS,” the video was captioned.

"The shirt celebrates a team which is defying conventions in test cricket to embrace a Machiavellian, captivating style of play that thrives on calculated risks and rewarding gameplay," an official statement released by the ECB read.
"The Ashes collection serves as a commemoration of the historic fixture. With the first-ever Women's Ashes series set to run concurrently with the men's, the collection features a special edition shirt that pays homage to the rich legacy of the competition. This unique shirt symbolizes not only the prestige of the tournament but also the new chapter of history that will unfold as women's cricket takes centre stage alongside the men's," it added.
