'As A Young Kid, You Didn't Watch Me Bat' - Coach Rahul Dravid Stuns Suryakumar Yadav - Watch

Surya smashed a 51-ball 112 against Sri Lanka in the 3rd T20I of the series in Rajkot and stunned the cricketing world.

Suryakumar Yadav has been constantly making headlines with his extraordinary performances for quite a some time now. He is one of the finest T20I batters in the world. Surya smashed a 51-ball 112 against Sri Lanka in the 3rd T20I of the series in Rajkot and stunned the cricketing world. Post his heroics, the Indian head coach Rahul Dravid praised Surya.

The BCCI uploaded a video in which Suryakumar and Dravid could be seen having a conversation. "I have someone here with me, who I am sure, as a young kid, didn't watch me bat. And I hope you did. Surya, exceptional. Just the form you have been in. Every time, I think I haven't seen a better T20 innings, you show us something even better," said Dravid in the video.

In reply to Dravid's comment, Surya stated: "I did", and then the head coach said: "I hope you didn't, I am sure you didn't".

"It is really important to put pressure on yourself when you are preparing for the game. The more pressure you put, the better you can play. There is a lot of hard work involved. Some quality practice sessions are also involved," Suryakumar said after his blazing century.

"The boundaries behind were 59-60m, so I tried to clear them. There are a few shots that are pre-determined but you have to be ready for other strokes as well.

"Most of the time, I try to find the gap, and use the field to my advantage, Dravid lets me enjoy, and tells me to express myself," he said.

Earlier, India won the toss and decided to bat first. An incredible ton from Suryakumar guided the hosts to post a mammoth 228-run total in the series decider against Sri Lanka. After reaching his half-century off just 26 balls, Surya scored his century in the next 19 deliveries. The star batter was the top scorer for India in the series decider. Apart from Yadav, Shubman Gill (46) and Rahul Tripathi (16-ball 35-run knock) also made important contributions. India grabbed the series 2-1 with a 91-run win in the final T20I.
