Aaron Finch will return good, just be patient, suggests Justin Langer

Despite Finch’s miserable run, head coach Justin Langer has no doubts that the limited-overs skipper will soon find his mojo back.

Aaron Finch, Australia’s captain in the white ball format, has been struggling with a lean patch lately. While the Aussies outclassed the men-in-blue in the recently concluded 2-match T20I series, the skipper failed to produce much with the willow as he scored just 0 & 8 in two innings.

Despite Finch’s miserable run, head coach Justin Langer has no doubts that the limited-overs skipper will soon find his mojo back.

“He's such a good player, such a good person, captain of the team; we know he'll come good. We just got to keep giving him plenty of care and support. We know he'll come good,” Langer was quoted as saying by cricket.com.au.

Finch hasn’t scored a fifty in his last 19 innings for Australia in limited overs cricket. However, Langer was impressed with the way Finch has conducted himself as a captain during this phase.

“Another important part about leadership is that he's really consistent. We haven't seen any real change in his personality or his attitude around the group, so that's a real credit to him. That's why he is the captain of the team,” he said.

“My experience of every captain, the most important thing is they're playing really good cricket. He's got to keep his attention on that. He's got lots of support around him. Like I say, he's such a good person, he's got to be Aaron Finch, be himself. He's doing that.

“He's one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. We'll just keep encouraging him to be himself. His runs will come, keep encouraging him to be himself and I'm sure he'll come good soon,” Langer added.

After capturing the T20I rubber 2-0, Australia will play India a five-match ODI series against India starting Saturday at Hyderabad.
