Eid 2025 — Moon Sighting And Celebration Dates In India, Pakistan, Iran, And Saudi Arabia

Eid 2025: According to the Islamic (Hijri) calendar, the month of Shawwal begins as soon as the moon is sighted on the last day of Ramadan. Eid-ul-Fitr is celebrated on the first day of Shawwal.

Eid 2025: Muslims around the world celebrate the festival of Eid. As the third Ashra of Ramadan begins, preparations for Eid also start. As Ramadan reaches its final phase, everyone eagerly waits for the sighting of the Eid moon. Eid is celebrated as soon as the moon is sighted.

The Islamic calendar is based on the lunar cycle. Just as a new date in Hinduism begins after sunrise, in Islam, a new date starts after sunset. According to the Islamic calendar, the ninth month, Ramadan, is currently ongoing, and the festival of Eid-ul-Fitr is celebrated on the first day of Shawwal. On the last day of Ramadan, once the moon is sighted, people greet each other with "Chand Mubarak" and then celebrate Eid. The sighting of the Ramadan moon also signifies the end of fasting.

When Will Eid 2025 Be Celebrated?

Ramadan in India began on March 2, 2025. Based on this, Eid is expected to fall on either March 31 or April 1, 2025. However, the exact date is determined only after the sighting of the moon.

Science has made significant advancements worldwide. Both religion and science play crucial roles in human life—while science studies the physical world, religion focuses on spiritual and moral values. Therefore, it would not be incorrect to say that they complement each other.

The combination of scientific techniques and religious beliefs makes them interdependent. By observing the moon’s position, it is possible to predict when the moon will be sighted in India and other Gulf countries and determine the exact date of Eid-ul-Fitr.

Moon Sighting Dates In India, Pakistan, Iran, And Saudi Arabia

It is important to note that Eid is celebrated on different dates in India and Saudi Arabia. Since the moon is sighted earlier in Saudi Arabia, Eid is observed there before India. This raises curiosity about the exact Eid celebration dates in India, Pakistan, Iran, and Saudi Arabia.

On Sunday, March 30, 2025, the moon will be visible at a height of more than 10 degrees in India, Burma, Bangladesh, Nepal, Karachi, Iran, and Afghanistan. Given its position and visibility, the moon is expected to be sighted in these regions on March 30, and Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on March 31, 2025. Although the moon may appear thin and small, it will be present in the sky for 26 hours and 25 minutes. Its presence in the sky confirms the start of the new Islamic month.

Eid In Saudi Arabia On March 30

It is mentioned in the Saudi Arabian calendar that Eid-ul-Fitr will be on March 30, 2025. On March 29, the moon will be at 1 degree with an age of 4 hours and 37 minutes. Scholars suggest that Saudi Arabia is likely to celebrate Eid on March 30.
