Observing the Indira Ekadashi fast not only pleases the ancestors but also Lord Vishnu.

When Is Indira Ekadashi In 2024: 27th Or 28th September?

Indira Ekadashi Vrat will be observed on 28th September 2024. According to the Panchang, the Krishna Ekadashi tithi of Ashwin month will begin at 1:20 PM on 27th September and end at 2:49 PM on 28th September 2024.

Puja Timings For Indira Ekadashi 2024

On Indira Ekadashi, Lord Vishnu's puja should be performed between 7:42 AM and 9:12 AM. The puja is done in the morning, followed by night vigil in worship.

Vrat Parana (fast breaking) timings: 6:13 AM to 8:36 AM on 29th September 2024.

Significance Of Indira Ekadashi

Observing the Indira Ekadashi fast is believed to free seven generations of one’s family from the cycle of birth and death. It is said to bring prosperity and happiness to the household and open the path to heaven for ancestors.

Rituals And Remedies For Indira Ekadashi

Perform rituals for ancestors at noon, around 12 PM, by offering incense and prayers. It is also advised to read a condensed version of the Garuda Purana, which is believed to bring peace to the souls of the departed.

On this day, one should also donate food, money, clothes, and other essentials to the needy. This charity is believed to help attain material comforts and blessings in life.
