Avoid These Mistakes On Akshaya Tritiya To Please Goddess Lakshmi

Want to Receive Goddess Lakshmi’s Blessings on Akshaya Tritiya? Follow These Key Rules Carefully — Ignoring Them May Lead to Loss of Wealth and Prosperity.

Akshaya Tritiya 2025: Akshaya Tritiya, one of the most auspicious days in the Hindu calendar, is closely associated with Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and prosperity. As per religious beliefs, following certain customs and avoiding specific actions on this day is essential to invite fortune and ensure lasting blessings. Failing to do so may lead to financial hardships, as it's said that Goddess Lakshmi may return from your doorstep if displeased. Here are key practices to avoid this Akshaya Tritiya.

Things You Should Never Do On Akshaya Tritiya:

Avoid Immoral Acts:
On Akshaya Tritiya, one must steer clear of any sinful or negative actions such as stealing, lying, gambling, or engaging in arguments. Such actions are believed to drive prosperity away from your home, resulting in long-term negative consequences. Disrespecting elders on this day is especially inauspicious and may invoke the displeasure of Goddess Lakshmi.

Don’t Sweep the House After Sunset:
According to tradition, Goddess Lakshmi is believed to reside in the broom. Sweeping the house in the evening is considered unlucky, especially on Akshaya Tritiya. Ensure your home is clean, but complete all cleaning activities before sunset. A cluttered or dirty home is said to repel positive energy and divine blessings. Also, avoid sitting on the doorstep during evening hours, as it's considered inauspicious.

Don’t Turn Away the Needy:
If a poor person, beggar, or even an animal visits your doorstep on this day, do not send them away without offering food or water. Doing so may negate the spiritual benefits of the day, and Goddess Lakshmi may withdraw her blessings, leaving behind misfortune and negativity.

Avoid Borrowing Money:
Do not borrow money or make purchases on credit during Akshaya Tritiya. This is believed to invite poverty instead of prosperity. Instead, offer charity or donations within your means. Helping the needy on this day is said to earn lasting merit and divine favor.
