Ashadha Gupta Navratri 2025 — Know What To Do And What To Avoid During This Sacred Festival

Ashadha Gupt Navratri began on June 26. Devotees who follow the rules of Gupt Navratri with sincerity are believed to receive inner peace, mental strength, and spiritual energy.

Ashadha Gupta Navratri 2025: In Hinduism, Navratri is celebrated four times a year, out of which two are widely observed — Chaitra and Sharadiya Navratri. The other two are known as Gupt Navratris, which hold special significance in Hindu spirituality. These are observed once in the month of Magh and once during Ashadha.

This year, Ashadha Gupt Navratri began on June 26 and will conclude on July 4, 2024. Unlike the regular Navratris, this period is considered particularly auspicious for tantric practices, spiritual awakening, and intense sadhana. However, it holds equal spiritual importance for common devotees as well.

What To Do During Gupt Navratri:

  • Devotees should worship Goddess Durga and observe fasts with proper discipline and rituals throughout the nine days.
  • Each day, focus on worshipping one specific form of the Goddess with devotion.
  • Maintain complete cleanliness, especially around the place of worship. Any form of dirt or disorder should be avoided.
  • Offering donations secretly (Gupt Daan) during this period is believed to bring special blessings from the Goddess.
  • On the ninth day, feeding young girls (Kanya Pujan) and gifting them presents is considered highly auspicious.

What To Avoid During Gupt Navratri:

  • Avoid consuming any kind of tamsik (non-sattvic) food like meat, garlic, or onion, as it is believed to displease the Goddess.
  • Refrain from lying or using harsh words, as it may disturb spiritual progress and positive energy.
  • Married women are advised to abstain from physical relations during this period as a form of spiritual discipline.
  • Stay away from household disputes or arguments, as they are said to invite negative energy into the home.
  • Avoid gossiping or mocking others — not just during Navratri but as a general practice in life.

Devotees who follow the rules of Gupt Navratri with sincerity are believed to receive inner peace, mental strength, and spiritual energy. These sacred days can positively transform one’s life, and it is believed that Goddess Durga removes all sorrows and obstacles from the path of her true devotees.
