Akshaya Tritiya 2025: According to the Hindu Panchang, Akshaya Tritiya is celebrated on the Tritiya Tithi of the Shukla Paksha during the month of Vaishakha. It is considered an auspicious day for making purchases, starting new ventures, performing religious rituals, and undertaking important activities. From a spiritual perspective, it is believed that any good deeds performed on Akshaya Tritiya yield everlasting merit.

This year, Akshaya Tritiya will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. Adding to its significance, this year's festival will coincide with highly auspicious yogas such as Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga, Shobhan Yoga, and Ravi Yoga. It is considered especially beneficial to worship Goddess Lakshmi on this day. Certain activities are believed to attract the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi and significantly enhance wealth and prosperity.

  • Lakshmi-Narayan Puja: On Akshaya Tritiya, devotees are encouraged to worship Lord Vishnu along with Goddess Lakshmi. Performing the Lakshmi-Narayan Puja at home on this sacred day is believed to bring happiness, prosperity, and abundance.
  • Recitation of Vishnu Sahasranama: Reading the Vishnu Sahasranama on Akshaya Tritiya is considered highly auspicious. As per astrologer Aneesh Vyas, one should sit facing the east direction, meditate upon Lord Vishnu, and then begin the recitation with full devotion.
  • Charitable Giving (Daana): The day of Akshaya Tritiya is also regarded as extremely favorable for charitable acts. Donations made on this day are believed to invoke the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi. Individuals can donate various items according to their capacity, such as jaggery, rice, gold, ghee, clothes, water, silver, earthen pots, and money.
  • Keeping a Coconut in the Safe: In Hinduism, the coconut, often referred to as "Shri Phal," symbolizes Goddess Lakshmi. Keeping a coconut at home is believed to rapidly enhance the flow of positive energy. On Akshaya Tritiya, devotees should offer a coconut during the Lakshmi Puja, wrap it in a red cloth afterward, and place it in the household safe or locker. This practice is said to attract financial gains.
