World Cup 2023: Shubman Gill Becomes 1st Batsman To Make 2000 International Runs In 2023

The likes of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are the other batters who have collected more than 1000 runs in international cricket this year.

India’s opener batter Shubman Gill scripted history after he became the first batter to make 2000 runs in international cricket in 2023. The Punjab-based batter achieved the feat while taking part in  India’s World Cup 2023 match against Scott Edwards’ Netherlands at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. (Getty)

Gill was just 17 runs away from the landmark and he reached there quickly. The likes of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are the other batters who have collected more than 1000 runs in international cricket this year. (Getty)

In the 43 matches this year, Gill has hammered 2034 runs at an average of 49.60 and a strike rate of 101.80 with the help of seven hundred and nine fifties to his belt. (Getty)

India’s young opener is also the highest run-getter in ODIs this year. Gill is engraved his name among the list of seven batters along with Kohli, Nissanka, Rohit, Mitchell, Babar, and Rizwan to have made more than 1000 runs in ODIs this year. (Getty)
