Stampede Breaks Out At Platforms 14, 16 At New Delhi Railway Station, 15 Injured
Heavy crowding on platforms 13 and 14 at New Delhi Railway Station resulted in suffocation, leading to the hospitalisation of several people on Saturday.

A stampede broke out at New Delhi Railway Station on Saturday injuring atleast 15 people who were rushed to hospital. Delhi Fire Services said they received complaints of "stampede-like" situation at the railway station while Delhi Police said that the stampede broke out at platform numbe 14 and 16.
Footage shared by social media users show a sea of crowd at the platform trying to get on trains bound for Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh. As per sources, two trains arrived on the platform behind their schedule time due to which the incident took place. The passengers were on their way to Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj.

A passenger speaking to ABP News said that he had a confirmed ticket for his mother but the crowd is such that there is "not an inch of space to walk." Passengers said stameped took place inside the station adding casualties are feared.
The platform has now been vacated and passengers are not being allowed to enter the station causing inconvenience to people who were to travel to a different cities.
The Railways also ruled out a stampede but ABP News correspondent Divyankar Tiwari, present at ground zero, said more than 10 ambulances were present at the spot. Two special trains have been arranged in the meanwhilw and more trains will be run soon.
