Delhi LG Confirms Casualties In New Delhi Station Stampede, Railways Orders High-Level Probe: Top Updates
A stampede broke out at New Delhi Railway Station on Saturday.

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said four special trains will evacuate "unprecedented sudden rush" at New Delhi Railway Station. Earlier on Saturday, Delhi Fire Services said it received complaints of a "stampede-like" situation at the railway station injuring at least 15 people.
"Situation under control at New Delhi railway station (NDLS) Delhi Police and RPF reached. Injured and taken to hospital. Special trains are being run to evacuate sudden rush," Vaishnaw said in a post on X.
"4 special trains to evacuate this unprecedented sudden rush at NDLS. The rush has now reduced," he added and ordered a high-level probe into the incident.
- While no official death count has been given, Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena confirmed casualties expressing condolence over the "loss of lives."
- "There has been an unfortunate and tragic incident of loss of lives and injuries due to disorder & stampede at New Delhi Railway Station. My deepest condolences to the families of victims of this tragedy," the LG said in a post on X.
- According to ABP News sources, at least 14 injured people were admitted to LNJP hospital.
- Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also took to X saying the "devastating news" from New Delhi Railway Station. " I am extremely pained by the loss of lives due to stampede on Railway platform. In this hour of grief, my thoughts are with the bereaved families. Praying for the speedy of the injured," he said.
- Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva visited Lok Nayak Hospital to meet the passengers injured in the stampede.
- Chief Casualty Medical Officer at LNJP hospital said 15 people, including 3 children have lost their lives. 10 others are injured in the incident that occurred at New Delhi railway station, the officer said.
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over loss of lives. "Distressed by the stampede at New Delhi Railway Station. My thoughts are with all those who have lost their loved ones. I pray that the injured have a speedy recovery. The authorities are assisting all those who have been affected by this stampede," he said.
