Star India opener Shubman Gill scored a remarkable century, fifth in his ODI career, in IND vs BAN Asia Cup 2023 Super 4 match at R Premadasa Stadium.

Through his incredible ton, Gill attained a massive world record. After 32 ODI innings, he now has more runs than any batter in the history of the format.

The 24-year-old Punjab-born star broke South African batting legend Hashim Amla's long-standing record.

Hashim Amla had scored 1650 runs after 32 ODI innings, a mark Shubman Gill surpassed after playing a knock of 121 in 133 balls in IND vs BAN Asia Cup match.

After 31 ODI innings, Shubman Gill had reached 1590 runs and missed Amla's record of the most runs after 30 and 31 innings, respectively.

Shubman Gill will next be seen in action when India takes Sri Lanka in Asia Cup 2023 Final on Sunday (September 17).
