Atlee Kumar is known for directing box office hits like Bigil, Jawan and Mersal.

Raja Rani is a Tamil rom-com starring Nayanthara and Arya in the lead. The film marked Atlee's directorial debut and collected Rs. 32 million on Day 1 despite only releasing on 350 screens in Tamil Nadu. The film is reportedly said to have collected some Rs. 500 million at the box office.

Mersal is a 2017 Tamil action thriller which Atlee wrote with RRR writer V. Vijayendra Prasad and S. Ramana Girivasan. The film starred Vijay in a triple role alongside Nithya Menon, Samantha Ruith Prabhu and Kajal Aggarwal

Mersal collected Rs. 31. 3 crores in India and Rs. 47.1 cr worlwide on Day 1 alone, as per an IBTimes report. Despite claims of infated numbers, the film is said to have earned some Rs. 200 cr worldwide at the box office

Theri is a 2016 Tamil action thriller inspired by Mani Ratnam's Chatriyan. The film starred Vijay, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Amy Jackson.

Theri collected Rs. 150 cr at the box office, becoming Vijay's first film in his career to enter the Rs. 150 cr club and becoming the second-highest grossing Tamil film of the year.

Bigil is a 2019 Tamil action sports drama written and directed by Atlee. The film starred Vijay, Nayanthara, Jackie Shroff in the lead

Bigil is said to have collected Rs. 300 cr at the box office becoming the highest-grossing Tamil film of 2019, suprassing 'Petta'. It also became Vijay's first film to earn Rs. 300 cr.
