West Bengal Police Find Crude Bombs In Birbhum District For Second Consecutive Day, CID Called To Defuse
On Saturday as well, as many as 40 crude bombs were recovered from Margram near Rampurhat in the Birbhum district. The bombs were hidden near an under-construction building.
New Delhi: The West Bengal police on Sunday recovered crude bombs stored in a plastic bag near a football ground in Sikanderpur village of Birbhum district where violence broke out earlier this week.
The bomb squad of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) was called on the spot to defuse the bombs, news agency ANI reported.

“Crude bombs were recovered by police earlier today in a plastic bag near a football ground in Sikandarpur village of Birbhum district. A bomb squad team of CID was called to defuse these bombs,” reported ANI.

On Saturday as well, as many as 40 crude bombs were recovered from Margram near Rampurhat in the Birbhum district. The bombs were hidden near an under-construction building. The police and CID are investigating the case.
"Forty crude bombs recovered in Margram, Rampurhat of Birbhum district. The crude bombs were concealed in four buckets and kept in the back of an under-construction house. The investigation has been initiated," said Birbhum Superintendent of Police (SP) Nagendra Nath Tripathi.
On Tuesday, as many as eight people were charred to death in Birbhum district when a mob allegedly torched houses following the killing of Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Bhadu Sheikh.
The case is being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation’s (CBI) forensic team which is currently collecting samples from the charred debris on the spot.
According to a report by ANI, “CBI's forensic team inspects the epicenter of arson and violence in Bagtui village in Rampurhat, Birbhum district for the second day. They collected samples of charred debris from the spot for further investigation.”
