Anudeep Durishetty tops 2017 civil services exam, Anu Kumari secures second rank

Union Public Service Commission on Friday declared the final result of Civil Services Exam 2017 on its official website. Anudeep Durishetty of Hyderabad candidate has topped the list.

NEW DELHI: Union Public Service Commission on Friday declared the final result of Civil Services Exam 2017 on its official website. Anudeep Durishetty of Hyderabad candidate has topped the list. Anu Kumari of Sonipat and Sachin Gupta have secured second and third place respectively. Anudeep, an OBC candidate, qualified the examination with Anthropology as his optional subject. He is currently serving as an Assistant Commissioner at Indian Revenue Service. Anudeep has graduated with BE (Electronics & Instrumentation) degree from BITS, Pilani. Anu Kumari topped among the female candidates.  She has graduated with BSc (Hons) in Physics from the Delhi University and has done an MBA (Finance and Marketing) from IMT, Nagpur. The UPSC has named 990 people in the merit list: 476 candidates belonged to the General category, 275 to OBC, 165 to SC and 74 are from ST category. Candidates who appeared for the examinations can check their results through the official site of UPSC: upsc.gov.in. The top 25 candidates comprised 17 men and eight women. Saumya Sharma, who appeared in the UPSC exams under the physically disabled category secured an overall ninth rank. The UPSC exam was held in June 2017 to recruit aspirants for posts in Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service, Central Services (Group A and Group B) and various other government departments.
