Terrorist Killed In Jammu and Kashmir's Bandipora, Operation Kaitsan Underway

A joint operation was launched by the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF in Chuntawadi Kaitsan.

Security forces shot dead a terrorist in Jammu and Kashmir's Bandipora district on Tuesday, police said. Two security personnel were also injured in the exchange of fire. Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the Choontpathri forest area of Bandipora district on Tuesday following information about the presence of ultras there, the officials said.

They said a gunfight broke out as the terrorists opened fire on the security forces who retaliated.

"Based on specific intelligence input regarding the presence of terrorists in general area Kaitsan forest, a Joint Operation was launched by IndianArmy, @JmuKmrPolice & @crpf_srinagar in general area Chuntawadi Kaitsan, #Bandipora. Contact was established and firefight ensued. Operation is in progress," Chinar Corps said in a post on X.
