Shraddha Murder Case: 18 Bones Found So Far, Forensic Report Likely Within A Week

Shraddha Murder Case: The Delhi Police has so far found a total of 18 bones, believed to have belonged to Shraddha, scattered across the Chhatarpur forest area.

The Delhi Police has so far found a total of 18 bones, believed to have belonged to Shraddha Walkar, scattered across the Chhatarpur forest area. The recovered bones include a part of the jaw. The Central Bureau of Investigation's Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) is likely to submit a report within a week.

Aftab Poonawalla killed his live-in partner Shraddha Walkar on May 18 by strangling her. He then cut her corpse into 35 pieces with a saw and preserved them in a fridge for almost three weeks at their flat, disposing of them over several days. He told the police that he had scattered the parts across the Chhatarpur forest area.

He confessed during the interrogation that he had dumped the saw used to chop Shraddha's body near his office in the bushes of Gurugram's DLF Phase 3, police sources said. Delhi Police sources further said that the accused Aftab threw the cleaver knife he used in chopping up the body into a garbage dump in the Mehrauli area.

The Delhi Police is investigating links to the case in Himachal Pradesh and Mumbai, where either the couple visited before the crime or just Aftab went after killing Shraddha. Witness statements are also being recorded.

About 200 policemen, including the cyber cell of the South District, Intelligence Fusion & Strategic Operations Unit, and the south special staff, are engaged in the investigation.

Aftab is allegedly trying to mislead the investigations by giving contradicting statements to the police, which is why a Delhi court ordered a narco test on him. It is likely to be conducted this week.
