New Delhi: There is good news for people who travel by train. Indian Railways is going to run 660 more trains for passengers. The Railways is increasing the number of trains amidst the decreasing cases of Corona infection in the country. According to the Railways, before the Corona Pandemic, on average, about 1768 mail or express trains were being operated every day, and till Friday 983 trains were running daily, which is about 56% of the number before Covid. Railways have said that the number of trains is being increased gradually according to the demand.
Operations will be restored in a phased manner
The Railways has ordered the zonal railways to resume trains in a phased manner keeping in mind the local conditions, demand for tickets, and the situation of Covid in the area. The Railways is increasing the number of trains so that the common people, migrant laborers have convenience in movement and the waiting list can be cleared.
So many additional trains will run in every zone
According to the railways, between June 1 and June 18, the Zonal Railways has been approved to operate 660 additional mail/express trains. These include Central Railway 26 additional trains, East Central Railway 18 trains, Eastern Railway 68 trains, North Central Railway 16 trains, North Eastern Railway 38 trains, North East Frontier Railway 28 trains, Northern Railway 158 trains, North Western Railway has allowed 34 trains, South Central Railway 84 trains, South East Central Railway 16 trains, South Eastern Railway 60 trains, Southern Railway 70 trains, West Central Railway 28 and Western Railway 16 additional trains. These include 552 mail and express trains and 108 holiday special trains.
