Caesar Salad is a classic salad that is loved by all for its crisy texture, rich flavours, and satisfying crunches. This famous salad was first created in 1920s by an Italian chef who ran a restaurant in Mexico. It soon became a staple in various restaurants and households. The simple but bold combination of fresh romaine lettuce, creamy dressings, and crunchy toppings makes i a favourtie for anyone looking for a simple, quick, nutritious, and flavourful salad.






 

Over the years, Caesar Salad has developed into many different variations and at the same time it maintained its original, core essence. The original version of this salad contains anchovies but for a vegetarian friendly alternative people added capers, which is a pickled flower bud. Despite these creative twists, the classic version of the salad remains a timeless favourite.




Ingredients

  • 1 Piece Romaine Lettuce (chopped)
  • 1 Cup Croutons
  • 0.5 Cup Parmesan Cheese
  • 1 Piece Chicken Breast (grilled, optional)
  • 0.5 Cup Mayonnaise or Greek Yogurt
  • 2 Tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • 1 Teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 Teaspoon Mustard
  • 1 Piece Garlic Clove (minced)
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Take a small bowl and whisk together mayonnaise, olive oil, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, and lemon juice to make the dressing.

Step 2

Wash the lettuce properly and then chop it. Pat it dry to keep make a crispy and crunchy salad.

Step 3

If you're using fresh bread for croutons, them cut in into small cubes, drizzle with olive oil, and toast in a pan. Wait till they turn golden brown and firm.

Step 4

Take a large bowl and add in lettuce, croutons, and Parmesan cheese in it. After that pour the dressing and mix it gently. Make sure that all the ingredients are coated well.

Step 5

Add your protein like grilled chicken, tofu, or chickpeas for a more filling meal.

Step 6

Once done, add a squeeze of lemon for a zesty flavour and Parmesan for a delicious flavour. Enjoy this salad fresh.
