Udta Punjab 2

As per a Peeping Moon report, Ekta Kapoor is said to be in production business for 'Udta Punjab 2' and has reportedly asked Aakash Kaushik to write and direct the sequel. Kaushik is known for films like 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2', 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3', 'Housefull 4', and 'Great Grand Masti' as a screenwriter.

The publication quoted a source close to the development as saying, "Udta Punjab 2’ is currently in the writing phase, with production slated to begin next year. The team plans to approach actors once the script is finalized, but Ekta is keen on bringing Shahid back. She has reportedly had preliminary discussions with him, but formal talks are yet to take place.”

The sequel will feature a new storyline by keeping its original connection to the Punjab drug crisis.

Abhishek Chaubey will also not be a part of the sequel as he has other commitments.
