A software engineer who left his job at Dell in Gurgaon to start his own company expressed his frustration on X, noting that none of his former colleagues congratulated him for making the leap. Shashank Rustagi, now the founder of ProfileCraft, a resume-building company, believes the lack of support from his ex-co-workers stemmed from jealousy.

"Not a single colleague at Dell congratulated me. If jealousy had a face," he shared on X. In follow-up posts, Rustagi explained that he had been offering resume-writing services as a side hustle before deciding to pursue it as a full-time profession. According to his LinkedIn bio, Rustagi worked at Dell for approximately two years.

As his post gained traction, the entrepreneur received a mixed reaction from X users. While some congratulated him on his entrepreneurial journey, a few employees from Dell, who weren't his direct colleagues, also joined in with their support. However, several other X users criticized Rustagi for his unprofessionalism.

“So not in the same field but where I elevated in my career space, some of my closest friends didn’t congratulate me & stopped talking to me thereafter. Then i got married & had a baby, another few stopped contact & obvio didn’t congratulate. Identify the lot & cut your losses,” wrote on of the X users.

“Might not be jealous, just indifferent. Today's society make us more indifferent, than being jealous etc. They just don't care about your achievements, I'm sure they'd be wishing ppl if they care about them. Just my take, congrats and all the best,” added a second user.

Another X user slammed Rustagi for his words and wrote, “Because it's a dumb move to leave your SDE job in this economy? Really? It's not even been a day, and you're already bad-mouthing your colleagues—shows what kind of person you are. You had an argument with your boss, and now you're putting on this facade as part of some ego trip.”
