Prime Minister Modi government reconstitutes 8 cabinet committees

As per a media release by Cabinet Secretariat, the Cabinet Committee on Security will have Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman and External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar.

New Delhi: Under the Transaction of Business Rules, the government of India has constituted eight cabinet committees, which include - Appointments Committee, Committees on Accommodation, Economic Affairs, Parliamentary Affairs, Political Affairs, Security, Investment and Growth and Cabinet Committee on Employment and Skill Development. As per a media release by Cabinet Secretariat, the Cabinet Committee on Security will have Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman and External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar. Appointments Committee of the Cabinet would have Prime Minister Modi and Shah. While Cabinet Committee on Investment and Growth will have the Prime Minister and Ministers of Home, Road Transport and Highways, Finance and Corporate Affairs and Railways and Commerce and Industry. The ministry will also have Jitendra Singh as a special invitee. Wherein, the Cabinet Committee on Accommodation will comprise of Home Minister Amit Shah, Minister of Road Transport and Highways and Minister of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises Nitin Jairam Gadkari, Minister of Finance; Minister of Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman and Minister of Railways, Minister of Commerce &Industry Piyush Goyal. Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs will comprise of Prime Minister, Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, NitinGadkari, D.V.Sadananda Gowda, Nirmala Sitharaman, Narendra Singh Tomar, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Subrahamanayam Jaishankar, Piyush Goyal and Dharmendra Pradhan. The Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs will constitute of  Amit Shah, Nirmala Sitharaman, Ramvilas Paswan, Narendra Singh Tomar,  Ravi Shankar Prasad, Thawar Chand Gehlot, Prakash Javadekar and Prahlad Joshi. The committee also has 2 special invitees namely: Arjun Ram Meghwal, and V Muraleedharan. The Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs will include: Prime Minister Modi, Amit Shah, Nitin Jairam Gadkari, Nirmala Sitharaman, Ramvilas Paswan, Narendra Singh Tomar, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Harsh Vardhan, Piyush Goyal, Arvind Ganpat Sawant and Prahlad Joshi. The one of the main Cabinet Committees that is Cabinet Committee on Security would include the Prime Minister, Home Minister, Defence Minister, The Finance Minister, and minister of external affairs. Cabinet Committee on Investment and Growth would comprise of Prime Minister, Amit Shah, Nitin Jairam Gadkari, Nirmala Sitharaman, and Piyush Goyal Cabinet Committee on Employment & Skill Development would comprise of Prime Minister Modi, Amit Shah, Nirmala Sitharaman, Narendra Singh Tomar, Piyush Goyal, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Dharmendra Pradhan,  Mahendra Nath Pandey, Santosh Kumar Gangwar and Hardeep Singh Puri. The special Inviteesin this cabinet committee include Nitin Jairam Gadkari,  Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Smriti Zubin Irani and Prahlad Singh Patel.
