Prashant Kishor Dares Amit Shah: Why Don’t You Go Ahead And Implement CAA, NRC In Your Chronology
JDU leader and political strategist Prashant Kishor has hit out at Amit Shah and dared him to implement the CAA and NRC in the same "chronology" that he "audaciously announced".
New Delhi: A day after Home Minister Amit Shah reiterated that CAA won’t be revoked, Janata Dal (United) vice president Prashant Kishor has challenged him to “try and implement” the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NRC) in the country in the same "chronology" that he "audaciously announced".
“Being dismissive of citizens’ dissent couldn’t be the sign of strength of any Govt. @amitshah Ji, if you don’t care for those protesting against #CAA_NRC, why don’t you go ahead and try implementing the CAA & NRC in the chronology that you so audaciously announced to the nation!” Kishor said in a tweet on Wednesday morning.

This comes after Shah, at a rally in Lucknow, said that CAA won’t be rolled back, inspite of the ongoing protests in the country. “We are not afraid of protests. In fact we were born amid protests, raised amid protests. We had said the same thing in Opposition and we are now saying same thing while in power,” Shah said. He also called for a public debate on the legislation.

Kishor had been critical about the CAA since the beginning. He had earlier, declared that CAA-NRC won't be implemented in Bihar. "I join my voice with all to thank Congress leadership for their formal and unequivocal rejection of #CAA_NRC," he had said in a tweet.
Interestingly, Kishor's party JD(U) had supported the Citizenship Amendment Bill in Lok Sabha as well as Rajya Sabha. Kishor had, however, said that only Nitish Kumar could explain under what circumstances his party supported the Act.
I join my voice with all to thank #Congress leadership for their formal and unequivocal rejection of #CAA_NRC. Both @rahulgandhi & @priyankagandhi deserves special thanks for their efforts on this count.
Also would like to reassure to all - बिहार में CAA-NRC लागू नहीं होगा। — Prashant Kishor (@PrashantKishor) January 12, 2020
Meanwhile, PM Modi has dismissed claims of links between CAA and NRC as lies being spread by the Opposition.
