There is fire in my heart over Pulwama attack: PM Modi in Bihar
"I pay my tributes to martyr Constable Sanjay Kumar Sinha from Patna and Bhagalpur's martyr Ratan Kumar Thakur who sacrificed their lives for the country," PM said.
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today laid the foundation stone for Patna Metro Rail Project in Bihar's Barauni in Begusarai district, in the presence of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. He gifted the state projects worth 33,000 crore rupees.
Prime Minister also addressed a public meeting in the state. He started his speech by paying homage to martyred CRPF personnel from Bihar Ratan Kumar Thakur and Sanjay Kumar Sinha, who lost their life in Pulwama terror attack.
Prime Minister said "I pay my tributes to martyr Constable Sanjay Kumar Sinha from Patna and Bhagalpur's martyr Ratan Kumar Thakur who sacrificed their lives for the country. I express my sympathies with their families. I can feel there is a fire within you at this moment, the same fire is inside me too."
He congratulated the residents of Patna for the metro rail project. He said PM Urja Ganga Yojana is one of the several projects which have been launched with the aim to transform Bihar as well as eastern India. Under this Yojana, states such as UP, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Odisha are being connected through gas pipelines.
Modi explained how each of these projects will bring all-round development in the lives of people. He said the National Democratic Alliance's strategy of development was two-pronged one was development of infrastructure and the other uplift of deprived sections of society. He said all this has been possible because you had elected a strong and stable government which can take quick decisions, work on them and translate them into reality on the ground. He also mentioned the scheme for giving Rs 6,000 to poor farmers and said it would bring significant change in the lives of people. On the 10-per cent reservation in jobs and education to the poor from the general category, he said this was being done without affecting the existing quotas of SCs, STs and OBCs. In his speech, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said Begusarai-Barauni area had been developed as an industrial hub under the guidance of Bihar's first Chief Minister Shri Krishna Sinha and it was heartening to see that renewed efforts were being made to restore and further develop its pre-eminence in the economic life of the state. At the Barauni programme, the dignitaries present included Governor Lalji Tandon, Union ministers Ravi Shankar Prasad, Ram Vilas Paswan, Ram Kripal Yadav and Giriraj Singh.#Bihar : Prime Minister #NarendraModi, with CM Nitish Kumar lays the foundation stone for Patna Metro Rail Project in Barauni.
