Lok Sabha elections: RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat says 'No to NOTA'

In his last Vijaydashmi speech ahead of Lok Sabha elections, Bhagwat focused on 2 main issues. Of these one issue was ordinance on Ram Mandir, whereas the other was people should refrain from pressing NOTA. As per sources, RSS volunteers will now hit the political war ground with this issue.

New Delhi:  Following BJP's poor show in the recent state polls, RSS is planning to launch a campaign against NOTA before the Lok Sabha elections. NOTA or none of the above gives voters a right not to vote for any party or candidate contesting from a particular seat. As per RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, “One happens to give a chance to a wrong candidate by pressing on NOTA (None of the above) option while casting vote.” In his last Vijaydashmi speech ahead of Lok Sabha elections, Bhagwat focused on 2 main issues. Of these one issue was ordinance on Ram Mandir, whereas the other was people should refrain from pressing NOTA. As per sources, RSS volunteers will now hit the political war ground with this issue. As per the feedback received on the recent Assembly polls, RSS was aware that BJP might have to suffer in the polls, as lot of voters choose to press NOTA over picking a particular candidate. This fear turned into reality after party faced a huge loss in Madhya Pradesh. RSS believes that it wasn’t Congress, but NOTA that defeated BJP in MP. A voter chooses NOTA when he is unsure what choice to make. He is certain of who not to vote for, but doesn’t have an alternate option also. Therefore, the vote goes to waste.
