Four factors that led BJP win absolute majority in Karnataka

Karnataka Assembly Elections Result 2018: Speaking exclusively to ABP News, Nirmala Sitharaman said that it is time for the Congress to introspect and that the "arrogant and hypocritical attitude of Congress reason for its loss."

New Delhi: After the Bhartiya Janta Party was able to attain an absolute majority in the Karnataka Assembly election, the Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman credited PM Modi, Amit Shah and BS Yeddyurappa for thumping victory in Karnataka.

Speaking exclusively to ABP News, she said the "arrogant and hypocritical attitude of Congress reason for its loss." Sitharaman accused the Congress of making false promises to the state. She said the party did nothing in its five-year tenure but during elections tried to mislead the electorate by making promises that were not genuine. To ABP News she also spoke about the four factors that helped BJP win a positive favour in the state. According to Sitharaman, the four factors are -
  • People's trust on Prime Minister Narendra Modi
  • Amit Shah's unparalleled hardwork
  • Local representative in Karnataka, BS Yeddyurappa
  • BJP's booth level workers
The vote count on Tuesday from Saturday's Assembly election showed the Bharatiya Janata Party almost touching the half-way mark, party workers and leaders were seen waving BJP flags and dancing to drum beats. No incumbent government has been re-elected in Karnataka since 1985. The total polling percentage in Karnataka Elections was 72.13 percent and a total of 2,654 candidates, including 216 women candidates were in the fray for Assembly Elections this year.
