Covid Update: 16,103 New Infections In Last 24 Hours Keeps Active Caseload Above 1 Lakh-Mark

Covid Update: India reported 16,103 fresh infections in the last 24 hours with 31 fatalities and 13,929 recoveries.

New Delhi: The fresh infections reported in India in the last 24 hours witnessed a slight plunge from the cases recorded last day, but the active caseload still remained above 1 lakh mark. As per the data shared by the Union Health Ministry, 16,103 fresh infections of Covid-19 were reported in the last 24 hours in the country. The new infections have taken the country's active caseload to 1,11,711. 

The daily positivity rate stood at 4.27 percent while weekly positivity rate as per the data was at 3.81 percent. 

In the same time period, the infection claimed 31 lives while 13,929 patients were reported recovered from the disease. With a recovery rate of 98.54 percent total recoveries in the country cumulated to 4,28,65,519, as per the ministry's data. 

Of the 86.36 crore samples that have been tested since the outbreak of the pandemic, 3,76,720 samples were tested for the coronavirus in the last 24 hours, the ministry's data stated further.

Under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive, 197.95 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine have been administered so far.

On Saturday, 17,092 cases of Covid-19 were reported in the country with 29 fatalities and 14,684 recoveries. Country's active caseload remained above the 1 lakh-mark with and was at 1,07,189 with daily positivity rate at 4.14 percent. 17,070 cases were reported in July 1 with 14,413 recoveries and 23 deaths took the active caseload to 1,07,189 cases.
