Covid Restrictions In West Bengal Extended Till July 15; Know About New Relaxations Amid Curbs

As per the decision by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress (TMC) government, the private and corporate offices can remain open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with 50 percent working capacity.

Kolkata: The West Bengal government on Monday extended the Covid-19 restrictions with some relaxations across the state till July 15

As per the decision by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress (TMC) government, the private and corporate offices can remain open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with 50 percent working capacity.

The salons and beauty parlours have been allowed to open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. with 50 percent seating capacity provided the staff members have been vaccinated.

The gyms across the state have been allowed to open with 50 percent capacity.

The banks will remain open between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The decision comes as West Bengal registered over 1,800 fresh coronavirus cases and 29 deaths in the last 24 hours,

The state presently has 21,884 active coronavirus cases.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had earlier last week written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking his intervention for an early approval for Covaxin from the World Health Organisation (WHO).

“I have written to the Hon'ble PM today seeking his intervention for an early approval for COVAXIN from @WHO. A large number of students travel abroad for pursuing higher studies and amid an already critical situation, we must take every possible step to ease their lives,” she tweeted and shared the letter written to Prime Minister Modi.
