Responding to the question, she said: "A journalist told me the governor's name was in the chargesheet of the 1996 hawala Jain case. But they have gone to court and cleared it from the court, but again the PIL is there (has been filed) and it is pending there. What do you want to know more?"
"He's a corrupted man, I'm sorry to say. All corruption-oriented man. Why Central government has allowed a governor like this?" she questioned.
"If the Centre does not know about the hawala Jain case then I'd say take out the chargesheet. Was his name there or not. First, you managed the court and there was a court case again and there has been no decision taken in it," she added as she continued her scathing remarks against the governor.
'Your Governor has not been chargesheeted': Jagdeep Dhankhar
Responding to the statement, West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar has denied CM Mamata's allegations.
"Your Governor has not been chargesheeted. There is no such document. This is misinformation. I didn't expect this from a senior politician. I have not taken stay from any Court in hawala charge sheet because there was none," he said.
"Till date in Indian culture, no one has taken action against younger sister. I would not go that way. I am sad. Mamata Ji is a mature leader. Why did she do this?: he responded when asked if he will take legal action against Mamata Banerjee.
