Soon after the swearing-in ceremony, leaders across the political lines extended congratulatory messages to Nitish Kumar, who returned as the Chief Minister for his fourth consecutive term in the state.
The Tejashwi Yadav-led Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) along with Congress boycott the swearing-in ceremony alleging that the mandate in Bihar Election is against the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Later, Tejashwi congratulated the chief minister through sarcasm-laden tweet.
Taking to the micro-blogging site, Tejashwi, who was Mahagathbandhan's CM face, said that Nitish was a 'nominated' CM, not an elected one.
"Best wishes to respected Shri Nitish Kumar ji on being nominated as the Chief Minister. I hope that instead of chair's ambition, he will make 19 lakh jobs and positive issues like education, medicine, earning, irrigation, law and order, the priority of NDA government," Tejashwi posted in Hindi.
Meanwhile, Lok Janshakti Party chief Chirag Paswan too launched a scathing attack through his congratulatory message to CM Nitish Kumar.
Paswan, who parted way with the NDA and decided to contest alone in the elections, said "I am sending you the vision document prepared by four lakh Biharis so that you can implement some from them. Congratulations once again on becoming the Chief Minister and the Bharatiya Janata Party for making you the Chief Minister."

Interestingly, Prashant Kishore also broke his silence and tweeted his congratulatory message to the Bihar chief minister. Kishore, who has strategised for Nitish Kumar during the 2015 assembly elections, said "With a tired and politically belittled leader as CM, Bihar should brace for few more years of lacklustre governance."
Kumar-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Bihar, won a majority of 125 in the 243-seat assembly. Nitish Kumar's JD(U) managed to win only 43 seats, and Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) and Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) four each, compared to the BJP which managed to secure a victory on 74 seats in the 243-member Bihar Assembly. RJD on the other hand came out as the single largest party with as many as 75 seats.
