90 percent people support demonetisation: PM Narendra Modi's survey results

New Delhi: The government claimed on Wednesday that 90% of respondents who participated in a survey have backed the decision of demonetization. Ninety two percent respondents believe that the move will be effective in curbing black money, corruption and terrorism. Ninety percent of the respondents said that the government’s various moves are “brilliant” in fighting black money. The survey further says 66% believe that demonetization will bring real estate, health care and higher education in common man’s reach. 27% have partially agreed to it. It observed that 43% did not mind the inconvenience caused due to demonetization while 48% felt they did face it but was “worth it”. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had asked the public to convey their views to him via his App by answering a set of questions. He asked the public to participate in a survey on Narendra Modi App where 10 questions, with various options, have been posed with regard to scrapping of old Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currency notes. "I want your first-hand view on the decision taken regarding currency notes. Take part in the survey on the NM App," he tweeted. The Prime Minister's move to gauge the views of the people directly comes at a time when the opposition has escalated its attack on the issue of demonetization. The government claims 5 lakh people were surveyed across 2,000 locations in the world.
