Birth And Early Life Of Guru Ravidas:

Guru Ravidas was born in 1377 CE in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, on the auspicious day of Magh Purnima, as per the Hindu calendar. A popular couplet describes his birth:

"Chaudas So Tainsees Ki Magh Sudi Pandras,
Dukhiyon Ke Kalyan Hit Pragte Shri Guru Ravidas."

This translates to, "In 1377 CE, on the 15th day of Magh month, Guru Ravidas appeared for the welfare of the downtrodden."

Dr. Rambhakt Langayan, in his prominent book Sant Ravidas Aur Unka Darshan (Saint Ravidas and His Philosophy), sheds light on the significance of Guru Ravidas Jayanti.
